Portraits
When I was preparing for my artist residency, one thing was immediately clear to me: I was about to spend a full week with fellow artists in a place where time moves at a slower rhythm, and that meant I had to shoot on film. That’s why I carried my Hasselblad 500 C/M all the way from Tokyo, along with five rolls of film. No rush, no assignments, no deadlines — just the chance to photograph the way I used to in the pre-digital days, taking my time, letting the moments come.
I’ve already shared my portrait of the place that hosted us. Today, I’m sharing another kind of portrait — the ones that involve people. You know, the usual ones.
