Tsuruhashi

I was in the Kansai area again for the weekend. This year, I got to know a city I've long neglected a bit better. I really love the old parts of Tokyo, but they're quickly disappearing to make way for large, often uninspiring skyscrapers. However, Osaka still retains a significant portion that resists gentrification. This Saturday, I visited Osaka's Korea Town, Tsuruhashi. The area buzzed with the sizzling grills of yakiniku and the aroma of kimchi and other spicy flavors wafting through the air. I'll definitely delve deeper next time I'm in town, but my rainy Saturday evening wandering beneath the tracks was a visual delight.
